well folks, this is the first post for me and also the first blog I've ever had so bear with me if stuff doesn't  work out so hot for the first few posts.
I'd like to offer recordings that aren't available on the web and also make hard to find recordings more accessible.
normally I'll put together download packages of both sides of a record with label scans but for the first post I'm just gonna post one side because I'm playing a show tonight and only have one side of this record recorded and just don't have the time to record the other side.

so here it is. one of my favorite sides from Wesley Wilson and Harry McDaniels under the pseudonyms Pigmeat Pete and Catjuice Charlie. it's a great record and eventually update this post with the flip side.
the 78 discography gives me a date on this record. 9/5/29... but I don't know if this was when it was recorded or issued.
if anyone knows, leave a comment and let me know!
enjoy the music folks!

ok so I found out you need to have a mediafire pro account to put together download packages.
so until the day I get one of those, yall are just gonna have to download 1 item at a time.

  1. Kit! You rock man, thanks for posting this stuff. Hope your new home down south is treating you good. Unless things have changed since my day posting old music online, the way to get multiple files to download as a package is to zip them into an archive, and upload that .zip to Mediafire. So if you have a bunch of items in a folder, on a mac, you can select the folder and go to File > Compress "foldername" and it'll make them into a zip. I don't know how to do it on a PC but you can always google it. Good luck with the new blog! - Dr. Washbones

    1. Subscribing won't do you much good as I've pretty much abandoned the blog world in order to live in a cabin in the woods. But I've just been out on tour with Stinky Pete and the other Scandalous ones, so I've had more internet than usual. I'm pretty sure all my old links have died… but you can look back in the archives for some occasionally entertaining reviews…

As for subscribing to things, I think that happens in the blogger dashboard, but what I usually did is just have some widget on the left side like you have the links to other blogs, so whenever I'd look at my blog, I'd see what other folks were up to as well. On my site its listed as Partners in Piracy, but the widget is actually called 'Blog List'. You could probably find it in the add widget section. One blog you should certainly check out is http://oldweirdamerica.wordpress.com/

  3. Hey pal, the date you listed here would be the day it was recorded. As far as when it was issued, that's a little trickier, I think. But the relative placement of it's catalog # in the race series would offer an approximate date, to someone who new more about the 14000 series than I do!
Also, if anyone in the Western North Carolina area wants to have a record party, let me or Kit know!
